A Time to Pray

Shepherd Christian School

Coming up next in GROW kids!

Hey, GROW kids!

Happy December. This year we are doing several fun holiday events, so please mark your calendars! This Sunday at 5 pm is Praise and Paint Night. If you didn’t get to RSVP before the event closed, click here to be put on the waitlist. Those on the waitlist will be alerted to any openings and will be the first to know about the next praise and paint!

On Tuesday the 6th at 6:30 pm we invite you to join our church in prayer at Ignite! Childcare is provided. Here is a message from Pastor Rob about Ignite in December:
I would like to invite you all to IGN!TE this coming Tuesday at 6:30 to hear some very important things that are happening here at Shepherd in the Sanctuary. Each of the things that I want to share with you require our combined prayer efforts. There has never been a more exciting time to be a part of the church with such great opportunities in ministry! Hope you can join us!

We were blessed to be able to share ornaments and Christmas cheer with the folks at Sunrise of Gahanna Nursing Home for many years until the pandemic caused outside visitors to no longer be permitted. Thankfully, the restrictions are loosening and we get to visit our friends again! On Wednesday, December 14th at 6:30 pm your family is invited to meet us at Sunrise to share Christmas cheer through Christmas carols and a gift that we will make at family ornament craft night (see below). We are so excited to get back to the tradition of sharing joy with our friends at Sunrise. We may also be able to visit other nursing homes that evening, the details are still being coordinated by our Christmas Outreach Director: Sabrina Westerman.

On Wednesday the 7th at 6:30 we are hosting a family ornament craft night at Shepherd to prepare for our field trip! Bring your kiddos of all ages to create some ornaments to add to your family’s tree AND to give as a gift to the residents of Sunrise of Gahanna Nursing home (see above about our caroling field trip!). This event is for grown-ups and kiddos. Stations will be set up for you to create your one-of-a-kind ornaments. And there will be a gift box to donate ornament crafts your family wants to give to the folks at Sunrise.

It's time for a new series for December! In preschool and elementary we will be learning about the Christmas story. You can watch kids church online if you are out of town for a family gathering!
Starting THIS month we are also offering a new way to watch kids church online. We will continue offering Ollie & friends for preschool, the Story Lab for elementary and NOW we are also offering the So & So show for preteens (older elementary)! Watch one, two, or watch all three! Let me know what is your favorite way to hear the story.
